Course Overview
The Level 2 Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides essential life-saving skills for individuals who may need to respond to emergencies in any setting. This 3-hour practical course focuses on equipping participants with the knowledge and confidence to act in critical situations including cardiac arrest, respiratory failure or choking.
Who Should Attend?
- Doctors, dentists, nurses and other healthcare workers and support staff
- Workplace First Aiders requiring BLS certification
- Individuals in roles involving public interaction (e.g. teachers or sports coaches)
- Anyone interested in learning basic life-saving techniques
No prior training or first aid experience is required
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will:
- Understand the principles of Basic Life Support and the importance of rapid response
- Be able to assess and manage unresponsive casualties effectively
- Perform CPR confidently on adults, children and infants
- Use an AED safely and correctly
- Respond appropriately to choking emergencies
Assessment and Certification
- Assessment: Delegates are assessed continuously through observation of practical skills during the training.
- Certification: Participants receive a Level 2 BLS certificate valid for 1 year
