Course Overview
The Level 3 First Aid at Work (FAW) course provides comprehensive training for individuals to act as First Aiders in medium to high-risk workplaces. This 3-day course ensures participants can respond effectively to a wide range of First Aid emergencies, offering in-depth knowledge and practical skills to manage life-threatening and minor incidents confidently.
Who Should Attend?
- Designated first aiders in medium to high-risk workplaces (e.g., construction, manufacturing, warehousing)
- Supervisors, managers, or health and safety officers
- Anyone who requires advanced first aid skills to fulfil workplace health and safety requirements.
No prior first aid knowledge is necessary.
Course Content
Introduction to First Aid
Primary Survey and Scene Management
Basic Life Support (BLS) – Adult, Child and Infant CPR + AED
Managing an Unresponsive Casualty
Comprehensive Injury and Wound Management
Recognition and Treatment of Common Medical Emergencies
Specific Workplace Injuries and Conditions
Shock and Circulatory Issues
Practical Scenarios and Simulations
Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will:
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of a workplace first aider

Assessment and Certification
- Delegates are assessed continuously through observation of practical skills during the training
- Successful participants receive a Level 3 FAW certificate, valid for 3 years
- Annual refresher training is recommended to maintain confidence and skills
